1. Turn the knob to the "NCV Live"
2. Gradually approach the NCV sensor to the conductor under test.

LIVE Test
1. Turn the knob to the "NCV Live Test" position, use "FUNC" key to switch to "LIVE".
2. Insert the red probe into the "Live " socket, use probe to touch test point.
3. same indicator for strong and weak AC signals as NCV test.

DETECTS LIVE WIRES

Gradually approach the NCV sensor to the conductor under test, i.e. electric sockets, outlets and terminals to test voltage and live wires safely without touching them.
AC VOLTAGE MEASUREMENT
1. Turn the knob to "AC Voltage" function
2. Insert the red probe in the rightmost socket and black probe in "COM" socket.
3. Connect the probe to the circuit to be measured (connect to the measured power source or circuit in parallel) and measure the voltage.
4. Read the measurement result.

Great Multimeter, and great value!
Wow. I just received this multimeter, tested it out, and used it to check an HVAC capacitor. I'm impressed at all the features, ease of use and value! Some smart things include an extra set of highly flexible wires, clips on the back to stow the probes, a stand to make it easier to see, a backlit display, buzzer, and all the wire connections I'll ever need. The only problem is that there is so much extra stuff--I can't get it back into the box to store it! I never thought I'd say this about a multimeter--but I love this one!
Great for DIY
A nice size in your hand and quite accurate in ac voltage which is all I have use the meter for so far. Accessories are great for different applications. Easy to read and use.

The meter is pretty nice. I have no complaints at all about how well it works. Is the meter the quality of a Fluke... heck no, but when compared to my Fluke, the readings were spot on. Surprising for a meter that cost a fraction of a Fluke. The old Fluke (40+ years old ) that this meter will be replacing, because it became increasing hard for me to read because I'm old, and lets face it, my eyesight is not what it once was. So, having a lighted back screen as this meter does is a real plus. Now the things that kind of bug me. The amount of time the the meter says on before the auto shut down kicks in is kind of short IMO. Same goes for the the amount of time that the backlight stays on. Seeing as to how this meter is powered by 2 AAA batteries, I can see the reasoning behind the shorter ( idle) times. Other then that... this meter is just plain great, for the price. Before I go. There is another meter out there for $23.00. The difference... that other meter does not have as many accessories. The other meter is easy to spot because it has a temperature probe included. I did purchase that other meter because of the temp option. I must say that even though the meters look quite a bit alike, the other $23.00 seems as if it is lacking when it comes to quality of the of the Plusivo meter. In closing, if you are looking for an inexpensive meter that has many functions, such as a capacitance test mode, etc, this meter is a pretty good deal. How long will the meter last? Well... how long does a new $60,000 vehicle last? The answer, no one knows!. Good luck.
